Scope and who is responsible

This Privacy Policy explains how FilmDrafts collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit filmdrafts.com, contact us, request a quote or sample, subscribe to updates, join a FilmDrafts program, purchase a product or service, or use any client Workspace or account feature that FilmDrafts makes available.

For the processing described in this Policy, FilmDrafts is the business responsible for deciding how personal information is used, unless a third-party service provider acts independently under its own privacy terms.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with FilmDrafts, we may collect the following categories of information:

• Contact and inquiry information: name, email address, phone or WhatsApp details, country, company or professional profile, preferred contact method and the information you include in an inquiry.
• Project and service information: project title, project type, production stage, requested service, budget range, deadlines, project descriptions, requested deliverables and other information needed to review or perform an engagement.
• Confidential project materials: scripts, schedules, budgets, financial models, pitch materials, production documents, reference files, notes and other materials you choose to provide for review or service delivery.
• Account and Workspace information: if a FilmDrafts Workspace is made available, account details, role, project and order records, requirements, messages, files, delivery and revision activity, milestones, invoices, receipts, refund requests and security or access logs.
• Transaction information: products or services purchased, invoice and billing details, payment status, transaction references, refunds and related accounting records. FilmDrafts does not need or intend to store full card numbers or CVV data.
• Program and marketing information: newsletter subscriptions, guide or giveaway requests, secure sample access, referral applications, referral codes, attribution and commission records.
• Technical information: IP address or security identifiers, browser and device information, referring page, pages viewed, timestamps, cookies or local storage, and service logs used for security, functionality and performance.

How we use information

• Respond to inquiries, review project needs and prepare proposals or service scopes.
• Provide, manage, support and deliver FilmDrafts services and digital products.
• Operate secure sample access, referral programs, newsletters and client communications.
• Create and manage accounts, projects, orders, requirements, messages, files, deliveries and billing records when Workspace features are available.
• Process payments, issue invoices or receipts, administer refunds and maintain financial records.
• Protect the website, accounts, confidential files and services against misuse, fraud, unauthorized access and technical abuse.
• Send service, account, security and transactional communications.
• Send marketing or editorial updates where you have subscribed or where applicable law otherwise permits.
• Improve website performance, user experience, service quality and internal operations.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce agreements or rights.

Where privacy law requires a legal basis, FilmDrafts relies as applicable on steps requested before entering a contract, performance of a contract, consent, legitimate business interests, and compliance with legal obligations.

Confidential project materials, NDA and MOU

Film projects frequently involve commercially sensitive or unpublished information. FilmDrafts handles project materials for the purpose of evaluating, performing and supporting the requested work and in accordance with the applicable engagement terms.

An NDA may be signed before FilmDrafts reviews confidential project materials when requested or agreed. After review, FilmDrafts may provide a proposal describing the services it can offer. If the parties wish to use an MOU or another project-specific agreement in addition to the proposal or NDA, that document can be agreed separately.

FilmDrafts does not publish identifiable confidential client project materials as portfolio or sample content without authorization or another valid right to do so. Anonymized or authorized examples may be used to demonstrate FilmDrafts work where appropriate.

Workspace and private project activity

If FilmDrafts introduces a client Workspace, information generated there may include project requirements, assigned Project Manager details, messages, uploaded files, deliveries, revisions, milestones, invoices, receipts and project activity. Access is intended to be role-based so clients see their own client-visible records and team members see only information needed for their work.

Workspace and secure-file activity may be logged to protect accounts, verify access, maintain project history, resolve support issues and support billing or audit requirements.

Payments and card information

Payments may be handled through the payment provider or checkout method presented to you at the time of payment. FilmDrafts may receive transaction references, payment status, amount, currency, payer or billing details and related records needed to administer the order.

When card checkout is available, full card numbers, CVV and other sensitive card credentials are intended to remain within the payment provider's secure payment environment rather than FilmDrafts storage. The payment provider may process information under its own privacy policy and legal obligations.

Cookies, analytics and chat

FilmDrafts may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies that are necessary for site functionality, preferences, security, referral attribution and session behavior. We also use website performance or traffic analytics and service logs to understand whether the site is functioning correctly and how visitors use public pages.

The public website currently uses a third-party live-chat service provided through Tawk.to. If you choose to use a chat or external messaging channel, that provider may process technical and communication data under its own privacy terms. You can also contact FilmDrafts directly by email.

If FilmDrafts later introduces additional non-essential advertising or tracking technologies, this Policy and any consent controls required by applicable law will be updated before or when those technologies are used.

How we share information

FilmDrafts does not sell personal information. We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary to:

• hosting, cloud storage, email, chat, analytics, security, payment, document-delivery and other service providers that support FilmDrafts operations;
• professional advisers such as accountants, auditors or legal advisers where needed;
• payment processors and financial service providers for transactions, refunds and payment verification;
• government authorities, regulators, courts or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights, safety or security; and
• a successor or relevant party in connection with a genuine merger, financing, reorganization, acquisition or transfer of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate protections.

Service providers receive only the information reasonably needed for their role and may have their own independent legal duties.

International processing

FilmDrafts works with clients and service providers in multiple countries. As a result, information may be processed or stored outside the country where you live. Where required, FilmDrafts uses appropriate contractual, technical or legal measures for international transfers and expects service providers to protect information in accordance with applicable law.

How long we keep information

FilmDrafts does not apply one fixed retention period to every type of information. We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide or support an engagement, maintain project and transaction history, meet accounting or legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and protect the business or clients.

When information is no longer reasonably required, it may be deleted, anonymized or allowed to expire in accordance with operational, legal and backup requirements. Confidential project files may be retained for service delivery, revision/support needs and recordkeeping, subject to the applicable engagement and any agreed deletion requirements.

Security

FilmDrafts uses reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information and confidential project materials against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or disclosure. Measures may include restricted access, encrypted or private storage, authenticated areas, time-limited access and service logging where appropriate.

No internet service, transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use strong account credentials where accounts are available and notify FilmDrafts promptly if you believe your information or access has been compromised.

Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or information about how data is processed. You may also have a right to complain to a competent data-protection authority.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe method provided in the message or by contacting FilmDrafts. Transactional or service communications may continue where necessary for an active request, order or account.

Children

FilmDrafts services are intended for professionals and persons who are legally able to enter business transactions. The website and services are not directed to children under 18, and FilmDrafts does not knowingly seek personal information from children for commercial service engagements.

Third-party websites and services

The website may link to third-party websites, marketplaces, social networks, payment services or other platforms. Their privacy practices are controlled by those third parties. FilmDrafts is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of services it does not control.
